Snowmass Village in the Quiet Weeks: What Stays Open, and the Order the Village Comes Back

Snowmass Village's off-season has a map as well as a calendar. Through November, the Snowmass Mall and Snowmass Center stay open on a small set of year-round businesses. Base Village's last restaurants close on November 1, leaving only a couple of services open there. The return doesn't happen in one day. Restaurants start coming back in mid-November, the lifts turn on Thanksgiving, and the last familiar dining rooms return in the second week of December.

The dates below come from Snowmass Tourism's Fall 2026 seasonal closures tracker, published in mid-September. The tracker warns that many businesses close Mondays and Tuesdays during the off-season and that hours shift as reopening dates get closer, so call ahead before any trip that matters.

Base Village Has Until Sunday

At the end of October, the only lit dining rooms at Base Village are at the Viceroy. Cafe V, Lift Line and Toro are all listed to close on November 1. The rest of Base Village closed in waves. Crepe Therapy Cafe shut on September 27, Slope & Hatch at The Collective on September 28, JUS Snowmass and GG's Market on September 29, Aurum Food & Wine and Montevino on October 3, Sundae Ice Cream on October 4, Kenichi on October 10, and The Lounge at the Limelight on October 18.

Lift Line deserves the visit before it closes. The 70-seat slopeside tavern opened at Viceroy Snowmass in January 2026, so this fall is its first full off-season. The Aspen Times reported that the kitchen is run by Culinary Director and Chef Matt Zubrod, that the menu is built around a Wagyu burger, and that Viceroy managing director Brian Harrier pitched the room as a year-round gathering place.

After November 1, Base Village keeps only a few non-dining services open. Eye Pieces of Snowmass stays open all season, though hours may be shorter. TAC Fitness at One Snowmass East is open all season. Alux Spalon takes a short break from November 2 to November 9. The Collective's Game Lounge and Selfie Den are closed through November 26.

The Mall and the Center Carry November

With Base Village's restaurants closed, the Mall and Snowmass Center hold almost everything that stays open. Of the fifteen Mall restaurants on the tracker, two are listed as open through the fall: The Tavern and Zane's Tavern. Outside the Mall, The Daly Diner is open all season, and Taster's is open all season except Thanksgiving Day.

Where Open through the off-season
Snowmass Mall, dining The Tavern, Zane's Tavern
Snowmass Mall, shops and services Daly Bottle & Grain Fine Food, Guapodog, Challenge Aspen, Christy Sports with reduced hours
Snowmass Center Clark's Groceries, Ajax Supply, Sundance Liquor & Gifts, The Snowmass Dispensary
Elsewhere in the village The Daly Diner; Taster's, except Thanksgiving Day
Base Village Eye Pieces of Snowmass, TAC Fitness

Snowmass Center is the one hub where every business on the tracker stays open all season. Clark's, Ajax Supply, Sundance and the dispensary have no closing dates. The Mall's most recent closure is the Après Deck. It opened this summer in the Viewline space beside the Mall, replacing Bunny's Social Club, and it closed on October 25, a day after Gorsuch Ski Cafe.

The tracker also has empty spots. Fuel Cafe closed on September 30 with no return date listed. Il Poggio, Heather's, Snacfood and Snowmass Lanes have no dates at all. For those, check with the business directly.

Dinner Comes Back Before the Lifts Do

The first restaurants are listed to return in mid-November, a firmer wave follows on November 20, and the Viceroy's three dining rooms are open again by the Monday of Thanksgiving week.

  1. Mid-November. Rock Island Oyster Bar & Grill and JUS Snowmass, which closed on October 19 and September 29, are both listed for mid-month returns. Gorsuch's retail shop also reopens in mid-November.
  2. Friday, November 20. Grub Thai and Smash & Dash Burger reopen on the Mall, and Kenichi Snowmass reopens at Base Village.
  3. Saturday, November 21. Gorsuch Ski Cafe reopens, four weeks after it closed.
  4. Monday, November 23. This is the biggest day before opening. Lift Line, Toro and Cafe V reopen at the Viceroy, and the Après Deck reopens on the Mall. One Vibe, Snowmass T-Shirt Co. and Snowmass Trading Company reopen the same day.
  5. Wednesday, November 25. The Lounge at the Limelight reopens, and so do the Four Mountain Sports Mall Shop and Pavilion.

One Vibe is coming back for its first winter. The gift and clothing shop on the Mall opened for its first season this past summer.

Thanksgiving Is Opening Day

Aspen Snowmass lists Snowmass's 2026-27 season as running from November 26, 2026, to April 11, 2027. November 26 is Thanksgiving, so the holiday and the year's busiest reopening day land together.

That day, New Belgium Ranger Station and The Stew Pot return to the Mall. Aurum Food & Wine, Crepe Therapy Cafe and Base Camp Bar and Grille return to Base Village. Snowmass Sports and Incline Sports reopen, and so do Four Mountain Kids and the Four Mountain Sports rental and retail shops at Base Village. Taster's, one of the few places open all fall, closes for that one day.

The biggest change this winter is on the mountain. Ullrhof, the restaurant at the base of the Big Burn lift, started a full rebuild in summer 2025. It returns as Aspen Snowmass's first fully electric restaurant, with seating for more than 600. The resort's Ullrhof page says it reopens in November 2026 with burgers, fries and shakes on the menu. The Aspen Times' winter preview says it is set for the 2026-27 season. According to Snowmass Tourism, Ullrhof is part of a multi-year push to add restaurant seating across Snowmass.

There's one more change on the pass side. Aspen Snowmass joined the Ikon Base Pass for this season, with five days at Snowmass only and select blackout dates. The full Ikon Pass still covers all four mountains.

The Last Returns Run Into December

Thanksgiving opens the season, but some places come back later. Venga Venga and Sunglass Panache reopen on November 27. The Edge at the Timberline returns on December 1, and Ro + Fern on December 7. Both the Timberline and the Stonebridge Inn come back changed. The Timberline Condominiums finishes the last stage of a $25 million, multi-year renovation for this ski season. The 93-room Stonebridge Inn, managed by CoralTree Hospitality and open since shortly after Snowmass began in 1967, reopens in December after a $15.7 million renovation. Heather's, the restaurant at the Stonebridge Inn, lists December 10 as its reopening date on its website.

Pinecreek Cookhouse also reopens on December 10, more than two months after it closed on October 4. That's the same day Wintersköl begins its 75th year, running December 10 to 13. The program includes a holiday market in Snowmass Village and, to mark Wintersköl's 75th year, Aspen Snowmass's 80th and Colorado's 150th, a drone show over Aspen Mountain.

The Collective's winter schedule picks up after the off-season closure. New this winter are Collective Conversations, Community Lunch & Learn Workshops, sound healing, breathwork and the Sunday Social Club. Returning are free Toddler Time on Sunday mornings in the Game Lounge, Chess Club, Mahjong Nights and Karaoke with DJ Tenza. From the November 1 closures at the Viceroy to the December 10 reopenings at the Stonebridge Inn and Pinecreek Cookhouse, the whole cycle takes just under six weeks. For most of that time, the Mall and Snowmass Center keep the village supplied.
