David Brooks, one of my favorite editorial columnists gave the unlikely topic of buying a home the gravitas that it deserves in the New York Times early this year. How many decisions in life are as powerful and important as finding and deciding upon a home? In this age of hypermobility and impermanence, we sometimes forget that the home, whether temporary or forever, is critical to the personal happiness quotient (as elusive as that might be). Finding the right fit between people and places is a process that requires empathy, patience, and perseverance. This story clearly articulates why I love helping people fall in love.
